Elizabeth Smith
Managing Partner Graduated with Honors from James Madison University as a Biology major and Spanish minor. Elizabeth subsequently obtained a Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences from University of Maryland where she was invited into Phi Lambda Sigma, a selective and prestigious leadership society. For five years, she managed operations and business development for Walgreens Specialty Pharmacy. Her largest contracts were Johns Hopkins Hospital, Georgetown University Hospital, and Medstar Washington Hospital Center. Her leadership, organization, and relationship management skills led to the highest monthly production of prescription sales in the region. Presented with an exceptional opportunity in urban real estate, Elizabeth joined the family business in 2017. She quickly transitioned into her new role and successfully implemented the design and construction of Sunflower Philly, an outdoor park and venue, while overseeing the company’s property management portfolio which includes both residential and commercial properties at 938 New Market, 623-625 E Girard, 258 E Girard and 1140 Shackamaxon. |
Chadwick Smith
Managing Partner A graduate of Pennsylvania State University in Economics and Finance, Chad began his career in business management for Prudential Financial. He innovated their business processes, outsourced and managed them internally and abroad, and developed operational technology to optimize their business platform. He desired a more entrepreneurial career and transitioned into business development with a 95-year-old, family-owned business distributing industrial products throughout the northeast region. The 2008 recession offered a unique buying opportunity in urban real estate and, seizing the opportunity, he began developing buildings outfitted with smart technology in Philadelphia. A few of the projects Chad has recently completed include 938 New Market Street, Philadelphia’s first Energy Star Certified midrise apartment building; 929 Hancock Street, a 4,500 square foot LEED Platinum connected smart home with Green Roof; 1725 N 5th St a 0.25 acre Community Engagement Park and Outdoor Venue; and Phase 1 of 1700 Germantown Avenue, a 143,800 square foot mixed use, next generation smart building. John Truitt
VP, Construction & Technology Born and raised in Philadelphia, John has had a lifelong passion for science and technology. He founded 3T Group, a company specializing in network and information technology infrastructure design and installation, computer networking services and networked video systems. John joined the Smart Builders team in its infancy to support implementation of smart building technology. His specialty lies in residential and commercial low voltage electrical installations including but not limited to:
